  IMPLEMENTATION OF NEW AUTOMATIC TERMINAL INFORMATION SERVICE (ATIS)
SYSTEM AT SELECTED ATSU

1  INTRODUCTION

1.1  This AIRAC AIP Supplement is issued to inform all aerodrome users, operators, and air traffic service personnel of the implementation of a new Automatic Terminal Information Service (ATIS) system at selected Air Traffic Service Units (ATSU) under the ATIS System Upgrade Project.

1.2  The implementation is intended to enhance operational efficiency and ensure compliance with ICAO requirements, including the dissemination of meteorological information in the form of Local Routine Reports through ATIS broadcasts.

1.3  Upon implementation, the affected ATSUs will transmit Local Routine Report information via ATIS in place of METAR information currently broadcast.

2  AFFECTED ATSU

2.1  The following ATSUs/aerodromes are affected by this implementation.

3  OPERATIONAL INFORMATION

3.1  The new ATIS system will provide arrival and/or departure ATIS broadcasts in accordance with applicable ICAO provisions.

3.2  The meteorological information broadcast via ATIS will comprise Local Routine Report information issued by the Meteorological Authority.

3.3  ATIS frequencies, designators, and operational hours remain unchanged unless otherwise notified.

3.4  In the event of system unavailability, ATIS service may revert to contingency procedures as determined by the respective ATSU.

4  TRANSITION ARRANGEMENTS

4.1  During the implementation period, operators and flight crews are advised to ensure familiarity with the revised ATIS meteorological information format.

6  VALIDITY

6.1  This AIRAC AIP Supplement will remain in force until 30th November 2026. Any updates, changes, or cancellation to this supplement will be notified through NOTAM.
