TRIAL IMPLEMENTATION OF SIMULTANEOUS INDEPENDENT
PARALLEL DEPARTURE ON TRIPLE RUNWAY OPERATION AT
KUALA LUMPUR INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (KLIA)

1  INTRODUCTION

1.1  The purpose of this AIP Supplement is to notify the aircraft operator of the trial implementation of Simultaneous Independent Parallel Departure on Triple Runway Operation at KLIA.

1.2  This trial will be effective from 20th February 2025 between 0030 UTC to 0300 UTC daily for six months until 31st August 2025.

1.3  This procedure is aimed to significantly enhance safety standards, increase departure capacity, and improve operational efficiency, particularly during peak hours when demand for departures is high.

2  DEPARTURE PROCEDURE

2.1  This procedure will only be implemented when runway configuration is in Runway 32/33 mode operation. During the trial implementation, the runway mode of operation will be as follows:

  1. Runway 32L for departures;

  2. Runway 32R for mixed mode; and

  3. Runway 33 for mixed mode.

2.2  Standard Instrument Departure (SIDs) for Triple Runway Operation when Runway 32/33 is in use are as follows:

    3. ATIMU 1F

    4. RUSBU 1F

    5. MITOS 1F

    6. SALAX 1F

2.3  SIDs for triple runway operation in KLIA enable all three parallel runways to be used simultaneously for departures.
