1. Ultralight operators are to ensure that they confine their operations within the lateral and vertical limits specified and that all flights are conducted in Visual Meteorological Condition by reference to the surface and during daylight hours only. Ultralight operators are also to inform the nearest ATC Unit prior to commencement of their operations and immediately after completion of such operations. Crowd control and provision of emergency services shall also be the responsibility of such operators.

2. Ultralight aircraft are non-radio equipped and as such are not aware of the position or intention of other aircraft except through visual sighting. Pilots of other aircraft operating into and out of or transiting such areas are to exercise caution.

3. Ultralight aircraft operating from the UFPA to ATC manned aerodromes and vice versa are required to be fitted with VHF radio equipment and the pilots are required to be in possession of a Radio Telephony Licence. Aircraft operations from such aerodromes shall conform to local ATC procedures for ultralight operations.

OPERATING PROCEDURES WITHIN THE SERAPI ULTRALIGHT FLIGHT PARK

1. Ultralight flights operating within the Serapi Ultralight Flight Park shall observe the following rules:

3. Ultralight aircraft operating within the Serapi Ultralight Park are required to be fitted with VHF radio equipment that is capable of transmitting and receiving the published Kuching TowerTSERVICE;TXT_NAME;102 primary and secondary frequencies.

4. Prior flight notification of at least 30 mintues prior to departure is given to Kuching TowerTSERVICE;TXT_NAME;102, which includes the ground officer’s and pilot’s telephone numbers

2. The pilot of an ultralight aircraft or the leader (if involves more than one aircraft), shall contact Kuching TowerTSERVICE;TXT_NAME;102 through VHF radio or telephone to obtain flight clearance and traffic information before airborne. The pilot shall comply with the following rules:

VFR FLIGHTS ON VFR ROUTE LANE 2 AND ROYAL MALAYSIA AIR FORCE (RMAF) HELICOPTER TRAINING AREA (WBR 601 – KUCHING)

1. The Serapi Ultralight Flight Park is in close proximity with WBR601 and the VFR Route Lane 2 . passes through and over it. All flights operating within these areas shall receive traffic information from Kuching TowerTSERVICE;TXT_NAME;102 or Kuching InformationTSERVICE;TXT_NAME;104 respectively

1. The Serapi Ultralight Flight Park is in close proximity with WBR601 and the VFR Route Lane 2 . passes through and over it. All flights operating within these areas shall receive traffic information from Kuching Tower or Kuching Infomation respectively

MANDATORY REPORTING OF INCIDENTS AND MISHAPS.

1. In the event of any aircraft incident, the operator shall immediately inform the Watch Supervisor at Kuching Air Traffic Control CentreTORG_AUTH;TXT_NAME;222 (Kuching ATCCTORG_AUTH;CODE_ID;222) by phone and all other relevant agencies for assistance as required.

2. The Aeronautical Rescue Sub-Centre (ARSC) at CAAM KuchingTORG_AUTH;Annotation:3645.en-EN;197 shall be updated regularly on the progress of any search and rescue operations.

3. A report using DCA A.O.1. shall be sent to the Watch Supervisor of Kuching ATCCTORG_AUTH;CODE_ID;222 for follow-up actions.
