OPERATION OF NEW MUKAH AIRPORT IN SARAWAK

1  INTRODUCTION

1.1  The purpose of this AIP Supplement is to notify the aviation industry of the physical characteristics of the aerodrome movement areas, navigational aids, visual aids, and aerodrome ground lighting system that will be available at the new airport.

1.2  The new charts, aeronautical operation data and administrative information provided in this AIP Supplement is presented in similar ICAO format applicable for the Aeronautical Information Publication.

2  MOVEMENT AREAS AND AERODROME DATA

2.1  All aeronautical data, aerodrome operational information and administrative information pertaining to the airport are shown in APPENDIX A-1 to APPENDIX A-8.

On the opening day the physical movement areas that will be available are as follows:-

  1. a code 3C runway (Length: 1500M. Width: 30M) with visual markings.

  2. a perpendicular taxiway (Width 15M) with taxiway centerline guidelines.

  3. a parking apron with apron parking stand guidelines and parking stand number.

These are shown on charts listed below:-

  1. APPENDIX B-1: Aerodrome/Heliport chart

  2. APPENDIX B-2: Aircraft Parking and Docking chart

3  NAVIGATIONAL AIDS AND VISUAL AIDS

3.1  The aerodrome lightings system consists of simple approach lightings, runway edge lights, taxiway and apron edge lights, threshold lights, runway end lights, and PAPI. The navigation aid comprises of a DVOR/DME.

These are shown on charts listed below:-

4  CLOSURE OF EXISTING MUKAH AERODROME

4.1  The existing Mukah aerodrome will be closed to all operation upon the opening of the new Mukah aerodrome.

5  MUKAH CONTROL ZONE

5.1  The Mukah Control Zone stated in APPENDIX A-7 under WBGK AD 2.17 ATS AIRSPACE and VFR Routes mentioned in WBGK AD 2.20 LOCAL TRAFFIC REGULATIONS in APPENDIX A-7 and Instrument Approach Charts will only be implemented in subsequent AIP Supplement.

6  IMPLEMENTATION

6.1  This AIP Supplement and relevant charts will become effective at 0000 UTC on 17th June 2021 when the airport is opened for operation. A trigger NOTAM will be issued notifying the effective date when the new aerodrome is opened for operation and the closure of the existing aerodrome.

7  CANCELLATION

7.1  This AIP Supplement will remain current until the information is published in AIP Malaysia.
