PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF HELICOPTER FORWARD OPERATING BASE (FOB)
AT LAHAD DATU AIRPORT, SABAH

1  INTRODUCTION

1.1 This Aeronautical Information Circular serves as notice regarding the works for the construction of Helicopter Forward Operating Base (FOB) for aircraft type EC725 operations at Lahad Datu Airport, Sabah.
1.2 The works duration is fifty two weeks starting from 16 October 2017 and is expected to be completed by 14 October 2018.
1.3 This AIC will be followed by an AIP Supplement that will provide the details of the Helicopter Forward Operating Base with operational details and facilities.

2  SCOPE of WORKS

2.1 The scope of works for the construction of the Helicopter Forward Operating Base (FOB) include:-

  1. Earthwork and Soil Investigation works;

  2. New Helicopter Shelter;

  3. New Parking Apron including High mast and AGL installation;

  4. New Connecting Taxiway 10m wide to connect the new parking apron to the existing Runway;

  5. New Office Buildings;

  6. New Guard House;

  7. New Main Road facilities;

  8. New Car Park area;

3  CANCELLATION

3.1 This AIC remains current until superseded by subsequent AIP Supplement notification on the upgrading works where more details are incorporated.
