This circular supersedes AIC 9/2001 dated 27 September 2001

In view of the events in the USA on 11 September 2001, the FAA USA, DETR UK and DOT Australia have introduced additional security measures for all flights into the United States of America, United Kingdom and Australia respectively. Similarly, other civil aviation authorities may introduce such measures in the future.

In line with the MCAR 1996 paragraph 196, all Malaysian registered air operators are to ensure that the relevant security measures are complied with for all flights into the respective countries. Up until this date, the references for additional security measures are listed below:

Air Operators flying into the countries mentioned above are to liaise with the issuing agencies for further detail and updates. Air Operators may conduct the Director of Airport Standards, Department of Civil Aviation, Malaysia for information, if any, on security measures introduced by another country not mentioned above.

Department of Civil Aviation, Malaysia has issued " Security Circular on Enhanced Security Measures" dated 5 october 2001 for all aircraft operating a passenger service within and departing from Malaysia
